TRILIUM Philosophy
Our
name, TRILIUM HEALTH, is symbolically represented by the flower with
the same name, Trillium grandiflorum, which can be found
blooming in woodland forests during spring around Easter. Known as
“Birthroot” to the Native Americans it was used traditionally to
ease the labor of birthing and here at TRILIUM it represents the
birth of a new concept of Health.
The flower has multiples of three white petals, sepals, and leaves
and is the perfect representation of the Trinity as well as the
three aspects of the human being...the Body, Mind, and the Spirit.
The trillium flower takes seven years to mature and blossom and thus
we have chosen to spell our name with seven letters as a sign of
this sacred symbolism.
True Health can only be achieved by following the intended “Path of
Nature.” Animals of the wild drink pure water, eat raw living foods
high in nutritional elements, move freely in their environment, rest
amply, eliminate after eating, avoid toxic chemicals and hazardous
wastes. They do not preserve, alter, or process their food so they
are not ingesting concentrated substances artificial colors and
flavor enhancers. This observation validates the importance of
eating the “Fruits of the Earth”: unadulterated, wholesome, organic,
nutritive, highly vital foods as prepared by Nature delivered in
their perfect package. By examining the world around us, recognizing
the innate wisdom of the Earth and its plant and animal inhabitants,
we too can learn the secrets for a long, healthful, and rewarding
life.
Certain physical Laws govern the outcome of our health as can be
seen in the disease states of deficiencies or excesses. Nature’s two
opposing forces positive-negative, can be translated into
anabolic-catabolic, yin-yang, alkaline-acid, reduction-oxidation,
expansion-contraction, assimilation-excretion, and whatever
combination that represents the biological processes of building up
and breaking down. These must be in perfect harmony and balance to
prevent either extreme from dominating which can be identified in
any illness from starvation to obesity.
At TRILIUM, we understand Nature’s Path of least resistance and
utilize these forces through the practice of Nourishing and
Cleansing. Dr. Iverson embraces the “old ways” of Naturopathic
Forefathers who believed the “Healing Power of Nature” could mend
and regenerate the body when given what it lacked such as clean air,
pure water, wholesome food, movement exercise, sweating,
hydrotherapy, sunbathing, botanical cleansing, fasting, prayer,
meditation and rest. These aspects form the FOUNDATION in our health
regeneration program. Without the basic pillars that nourish and
cleanse, build up and break down, we can not be assured the level of
health Nature rightfully endows.
“Circulation is Life, Stagnation is Death”…spoken by a great teacher
and friend of the doctor. The Natural Circulation of the Earth’s
air, water, and soil can be related as well to a body where breath,
blood, lymph, chi, and vital energy are dependent on the body’s
ability to move them. This circulation brings nourishment to feed
the cells and equally cleanses them by carrying away stagnant wastes
that can prevent the free flow of energy and nutrition. Sometimes
additional methods are needed to stimulate this flow such as
concentrated nutrients, hydrotherapy, massage and manipulation,
acupuncture, homeopathy, electro-magnetic therapies, and other
similar non-harmful methods. Circulation is a component of health
that must be in continual movement to be in compliance with these
natural laws.
At TRILIUM HEALTH, we know that the name of the disease is less
important than identifying the functional insufficiencies that
resulted in the “dis-ease.” A single unhealthy body “part” is less
significant than how the entire body functions in relation to that
“part.” The body is a complete unit, a whole being, not a sum of
parts, nor a list of symptoms. Every function depends on another and
the body should be treated as a whole. Drugs treat symptom for
symptom and only mask the body’s natural signals of distress without
addressing the underlying dis-order. This may temporarily relieve
the symptoms but does not rebuild health or promote cure. True
health is restored by strengthening the whole body through the
principles of Nature. As mentioned above, we must balance the forces
of expansion and contraction and promote circulation. This approach
creates a level of wellness that goes beyond suppressing individual
symptoms with palliative care. At TRILIUM HEALTH we hold these
Principles as the Foundation by which the Laws of Nature provide
Health, Balance, and Harmony.
